Founded in 1993 on the principle of learning through play, Little Feet Cooperative Preschool is proud to be operating on this same belief today. It is our philosophy that play isn't just fun, but rather, play is the work of a child, and is the most powerful way young children learn and grow.

Our parent co-op model offers a unique community-driven approach to early childhood education, where parents actively partner with our trained teacher to create a nurturing, high-quality learning environment. It's an empowering opportunity to observe your child's development firsthand, gain practical insights and guidance from an experienced teacher, build deep connections with other families, and form a supportive community of like-minded caregivers.

Our school day is centered around long blocks of uninterrupted play inside and outside. Children have the opportunity to dive into hands on building and block play, creative art experiences, imaginative role play, sensory explorations, and big motor play. Teacher Ashley uses student observation to prepare the environment based on natural curiosity and student interests.

Emphasis is placed on developing social-emotional growth by providing opportunity, support, and modeling to help children share, negotiate, resolve conflict, regulate their bodies and emotions, and build confidence. Language explodes in this environment which is rich with opportunities to converse, tell stories, play games, and sing songs.

As a former kindergarten teacher, Teacher Ashley knows the value of early literacy and weaves it simply and naturally into the school day. Daily opportunities are provided to foster a love of reading and writing through songs, stories, early phonemic and phonological awareness, and consistent daily journal writing.

Teacher Ashley emphasizes having dedicated tools and opportunities for sensory seeking and gross motor activities at all times, which is essential to supporting children's holistic development, emotional well-being and readiness to learn. These elements create a responsive child-led classroom where students can naturally and independently meet their sensory needs.

Research- backed and developmentally appropriate play-based learning fosters confidence, resilience, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning- far more than academic-based preschool. Give your child the gift of learning through play. Join us today and watch them thrive!
